Get real-time shipping rates from multiple carriers in a single API call.
Returns instant shipping rates and service options from Envia’s carrier network. Provide origin and destination addresses plus package details to receive a list of available carrier services with prices, delivery times, and other essential information.
Use Case
Use this endpoint to compare shipping costs and service levels across carriers before creating a shipment label. This helps you choose the best option for cost, speed, or additional features like insurance or cash on delivery. You can quote multiple packages in one call and optionally filter results by preferred services.
Required Inputs
- Sender and recipient address details (country, state, city, postal code, etc.)
- Package specifications (weight, dimensions, declared value, contents)
- (Optional) Specific service options or multiple package entries
Notes
- You must make one request per carrier; the API does not support retrieving quotes for multiple carriers in a single call.
- This endpoint provides rate estimates only. To purchase a label using a selected rate, call the Create a shipping label endpoint with the chosen service code.
- For better accuracy, use the Envia Queries API to validate addresses and postal codes before quoting. Address structure can vary by country and shipment type.
- Consult the example requests attached to this endpoint to see how to format address and shipment data correctly for different countries and shipment types.
🇨🇴 Colombia Specifics
For Colombia, the city and postalCode should be the same, and use the Código DANE, an official geographic code assigned by the Colombian statistics authority (DANE). (Check example on the right)
You can retrieve valid Códigos DANE using the Queries API:
- Validate Zip Code - confirms valid postal codes and links them to the correct DANE code.
- Locate City or Get Cities – retrieves city information and corresponding DANE codes.
